Holden believed that the adult world was phony and made of lies. However, his vision throughout the story was to be the catcher of the youth. To remind youth that freedom and joy and fun go away once you get to the adult world. Adults see children and younger people as incapable of the responsibilities and tasks that they themselves have. However, that will never truly be the case. Adults can always something to learn from children, and children will always something to learn from adults. Neither of the parties can fully trust the other, which is why there is always this guard that comes up when it comes to adult and youth interactions. However, there are many children who have affected the way older generations think of the younger. The many American companies that are led by children. Holden has something in his heart that he can teach to the older generation. He sees from his brother Allie, and from his own life, that we must use the time we have wisely. Life is too short to be sitting at a desk, and there is so much time to spend on having fun. Holden can teach this to the adult world. The adult world can learn from it, and see that being a population of phony, meticulous people is not what our time in life is meant for.
